Certifying a Quality Management Systems (QMS) – internal/external audits; measuring a “system”: documentation creation; continuous improvement; and "certifying" internal processes for improved productivity... sound very intimidating doesn't it?
To become certified to an international standard can be a challenge to accomplish; it takes a lot of time and resource from your company's personnel. Yet these high-level changes are made up of simpler ones; train your team; write procedures; keeping records; checking your processes – all things a company needs to consider in regular practice and stay competitive.
These simple changes normally give big results, and customer recognition for your organization. With ISO 9001 Certification, you're following a set of internationally accepted QMS requirements that translate to any industry.
DOTQS is an authorized accredited registrar by the United States ANAB (ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board) in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021 requirements. DOTQS provides ISO 9001 Certification to companies with managed audits and detailed reports containing all the evidence needed to register a company quality management system.
Since DOTQS focuses on the specifics of the structural steel industry, with a staff of knowledgeable auditors who carry technical qualifications in steel specifications, welding, and quality industries. When the DOTQS auditor arrived, you can have confidence knowing the auditor has solid experience, and can evaluate your system with accuracy and fairness.
Some companies have achieved certification to ISO 9001 with respect to their quality management systems. Yet when special processes such as welding are used, a general “system” certification can’t provide the specific demonstration of a company’s capability to produce quality welded structures. ISO 3834 certification does provide evidence for welding capability for a manufacturer or fabricator. The certification provides evidence a company has met the quality requirements of a specification, a product standard, or a regulatory requirement. Conformity to the ISO 3834 standard also provides global recognition for assurance of welding competence.
ISO 9001 quality management system registration is not a requirement for ISO 3834 certified. ISO 3834 is a separate impartial certification program which requires no other certifications. Even companies already certified by AISC, SAE（Society of Automotive Engineers）, API （American Petroleum Institute） or other industry programs consider ISO 3834 as advancement to their certification recognition.
ISO 3834 is for any firm who uses welding process(s) in the production of product or to provide a service to their clients. The certification is applicable to any number of producers; steel fabricator for multistory buildings; tower manufacturer; agriculture attachment manufacturer; manufacturer of school desks; small shop focusing on specialty weld repairs.
